The Ambassador of Somalia to Pakistan, Sheikh Noor Muhammad Hassan, visited the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore (UET) here on Thursday and met with Vice Chancellor Dr Shahid Munir. During the visit, he met Somali students studying at UET and listened to the challenges they face.
He stated that the strong, productive, and uninterrupted bilateral relations between Pakistan and Somalia could help to promote educational exchanges between the two countries.
The ambassador appreciated the hostel facilities and other services provided to international students at UET. He assured Dr Shahid Munir that the embassy would assist in establishing ties between educational institutions to benefit from engineering education and shared experiences. He emphasised that there is significant potential in the field of engineering in Somalia, which Pakistani institutions should leverage, and the embassy is taking a personal interest in this matter. Dr Shahid Munir mentioned that UET enjoyed an international reputation, which was why students from various countries were enrolled here.
