Mogadishu (HOL) - A man armed with a pistol shot and killed a Somali police officer named Adan Omar Ahmed, also known as Adan Biit, in Mogadishu on Friday night.
The officer was killed in a restaurant near the School Polizia camp, which is one of the most heavily guarded areas.
The perpetrator fled the scene before the arrival of police officers, and as of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the murder.
The leader of the Southwest administration, Abdulaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen, and former President of Somalia, Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, have condemned the killing of the Somali police officer and have called for a prompt investigation.
No group has claimed responsibility for the killing.
