Mogadishu (HOL) - Galmudug State President Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qor Qor has announced that his administration will hold a one-person, one-vote election and urged politicians to avoid actions that could lead to conflict and war.
During the 18th anniversary celebration of Galmudug State on Tuesday, President Qor Qor emphasized that his administration would not tolerate any attempts to bring weapons or armed forces into Dhusamareb, the state's administrative capital, to influence the upcoming elections.
"I tell the candidates aspiring to run for the position of Galmudug President, don't dream of bringing arms into Galmudug. We will not allow it. The people of Galmudug, both at home and abroad, are well aware of what is happening on the ground," President Qor Qor stated.
He urged candidates to focus on presenting their agendas during the election campaigns and warned against any actions that could threaten the region's security.
The Galmudug regional election is scheduled to take place in the coming months.
