Mogadishu (HOL) - Somali Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre appointed a nine–member interim Electoral Committee on Tuesday to organize vacant parliamentary seats elections in the House of the People of the 11th Parliament of Somalia.
Two seats were left empty by Mahad Salad and Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre. The chief of NISA and the Prime Minister are not allowed to remain in parliament as MPs under the constitution.
Members of the Interim Committee include:
1. Abdirahim Abdullahi Shafici
2. Abdirizak Diiriye Warsame
3. Abdi Hiis Udan
4. Abdishakur Abiib Hayir
5. Abdullahi Abdi Aden
6. Mowliid Mataan Salad
7. Mohamed Adan Osman Yare
8. Yusuf Abdikadir Mohamed
9. Zahra Abdirahman Mohamed
The committee is expected to release the timetable for the election in the coming days.
