Mogadishu (HOL) - Sahro Bundubte, a member of the Somali Parliament, accused the Speaker of the parliament, Adan Madobe, of stalling a motion discussing the turmoil in Las Anod.
Speaking to the media, MP Sahro Bundubte claimed that more than 20 MPs had prepared to table a motion asking parliament to discuss the volatile situation in Las Anod.
The lawmakers said it is regrettable that the Somali parliament had remained mute on the carnage in Lasanod.
Sahro accused Somaliland of using its army to attack individuals protesting the massacre of civilians in the Sool area.
"MPs brought a motion to discuss the situation. What is going on? Who is killing these people, and why are they being killed? That's all that was supposed to be discussed," she said.
"Legislators have the right to express their voices in parliament. The Speaker should show his support for the different views of the MPs," she added.
The statement of the MPs comes as violent protests rocked Las Anod, the administrative capital of the Sool region.
