Two killed in road accident in Somaliland

    Hargeisa (HOL) - At least two people were killed and five others injured on Thursday night following a road accident in the Galloolay area of the Gabilay region of Somaliland.

    Gabilay Police Traffic Commandant Abdikarin Abdirashid Abdillahi said that the accident involving a minibus and a truck occurred near the Gabollay checkpoint around 10:30 p.m local time.

    The commandant did not provide any additional information and sent his condolences to the families affected by accident and those who died.

    Last July, three young men were killed in a road accident on the outskirts of Hargeisa, Somaliland's capital, when a pickup 4WD collided with a Vitz minivan.

    Locals complain of drivers who are racing down streets at excessive speeds.
