Minneapolis, MN (HOL) -Islamic Association of North America held a large conference attended by all different sections of the society. The conference took place at the Minneapolis Conference Center on September 4th, 2022. The conference's theme was "Continuity and Community: Reviving our Islamic Values. “The conference's objective was to bring the community together and discuss our pressing issues such as faith, social, education,  health, and families. It is the state of the union of our community here in Minnesota”  said Sheikh Yussuf Abdulle, the executive director of the Islamic Association of North America known as IANA.

Over two thousand people living in Minnesota and the surrounding states attended the conference. IANA, the hosting organization, prepared highly engaging programs and content for youth and families. The conference's goal was to address the community's religious, educational, health, and social issues. People who attended the conference lauded the programs and expressed their appreciation for the conference. "I have not attended such a beneficial and high-quality conference for the Muslim Ummah in years," said one of the conference participants. "I have learned the concept of wealth, how to acquire and spend it." Said Mohamed, who requested not to disclose his last name.

The programs covered topics such as "Young Muslims: challenges and opportunities, the Journey to Yaqeen (Conviction), Halal Business, Autism and its challenges in the community, Identity, opioid and mental health crises in our community, authenticity in Islam, Reclaiming our Islamic values from Fitnah of Modern times, among other programs." The lecturers delivered their lectures in English and Somali. The lecturers were drawn from renowned Sheikhs and Ulama, both males and females from North America.

This conference was fascinating in the variety of the programs, which differed from traditional Islamic conferences emphasizing spiritual lectures. The conference organizers intentionally prepared programs that respond to the social and spiritual needs of the Muslim community in North America. "Muslims living in North America, especially the youth, face obstacles and challenges that Muslims in Muslim Majority countries do not face. Therefore, we organized this conference to attract the youth, respond to their needs, and assuage their fears," Abdiaziz Sugule, IANA board member and treasurer.

The most exciting part of the Convention was the Islamic Studies competition and the basketball tournament. Five centers participated in the Islamic Studies competition, which was well prepared. The participants were awarded $ 10,000.00 depending on their competition achievements. The basketball tournament was fun and exciting. Ten teams participated in the basketball tournament, and the winning team was awarded a trophy.

The conference concluded at 10:30 pm US central time with Quran recitations from students of the organization's centers. In the end, The Ulama supplicated to the almighty Allah and wished the Muslim community in the best state of Iman and conviction.
