MOGADISHU (HOL) - Abdi Muridi Dheere alias Ajakis known for his rib cracking jokes and whose works brought laughter for decades especially amidst the pains and anguish of civil war inSomalia has died.
Sources said Ajakis died at a hospital in Mogadishu where he had been undergoing treatment for a while.
Ajakis was among the pioneers of Al-Faghi company which specialised in dubbing Hindi movies into Somali language.
As a result of the dubbing, Indian and Turkish movies became a favourite for Somalis for many years.
Until his death, Ajakis was working for Universal TV.
