Garowe (HOL) - A military court in Galkayo has released 14 men believed to be members of the militant insurgent group Al-Shabaab.
The judge, Lieutenant Colonel Abdirahman Warsame Jama, announced that all the accused had been released after being found not guilty due to insufficient evidence.
The men were suspected of being behind several bombings and assassinations in Galkayo.
Shorty following their release, they told the media that they were delighted that the military court had restored their freedom, saying that they had been treated well during their detention.
Puntland recently sentenced eight young men to death for being members of an al-Shabaab cell that carried was behind several murders in south Galkayo.
