MOGADISHU (HOL) - Three Somali National Army soldiers were Sunday killed in a landmine attack in Bakool region in south western Somalia.
Sources said a vehicle in which the soldiers were in ran into a landmine in Wajid town in Bakool egion killing three soldiers.
Six other soldiers were injured in the mid-morning attack which has since been claimed by the militant group Al-Shabaab. There was no immediate comment from authorities.
Al-Shabaab has in recent weeks mounted attacks against military and civilian targets in some parts of the country amid an ongoing political row over elections.
