MOGADISHU (HOL) - Police in Mogadishu have confirmed that the bullets that killed two siblings in Mogadishu Thursday night came from a military vehicle.
The Somali Police Force said in a statement the occupants of the double cabin military vehicle opened fire at an autorickshaw at Debka junction in Mogadishu killing the two.
Police however noted they had not zeroed on the occupants of the military vehicle but said they had acquired CCTV footage from the scene.
The siblings were identified as Sakariye Mohamed Kalafoge and Sowda Mohamud.
They were reportedly out to get some food for a relative who was undergoing treatment at a city hospital when they were killed, sources said.
The family said they were not expecting justice from the police since there have been similar incidents in the past but no one had been held accountable.
Security forces in Mogadishu have previously been accused of opening fire on autorickshaws in Mogadishu on traffic.
