At least 2 killed as mortal shells rock Mogadishu

At least two people were killed and 13 others injured in Benadir district near the presidential palace in Somali capital Mogadishu after unknown gunmen fired mortar shells on Thursday evening, officials and witnesses said.
District Commissioner Mohamed Osman Dhore confirmed the incident, saying some gunfire could be heard in some parts of the capital.
"Two people died, and 13 others wounded after mortar shells landed into their houses in Benadir district, the injured people were taken to the hospitals for treatment," Dhore said.
At least five mortar shells were fired into the residential areas and the number of casualties could possibly increase, according to the eyewitnesses.
No group has claimed the responsibility for the latest attacks but Al-Shabab have carried similar attacks in the Horn of Africa nation.
