The men, two Kenyans, two Tanzanians and two Somalis were arrested in Dhobley town on their way to rebel-held territory in Somalia, according to security sources.

Militants' recruits often use Kenya-Somalia's insecure border to sneak into their strongholds. The latest arrests mark a new progress by
Kenya's anti-terror agents struggling to stop their fellow Kenyans trying to join the group.

Kenya which sees surge in the number of homegrown militants trying to join Al-Shabab fears that Al-shabab would send radicalized Kenyan
militants back home to launch terror attacks.

Al-Shabab carried out several deadly attacks, including the 2014 Westgate mall attack that killed more than 67 people.

Militants attacks in Kenya started after the East African nation sent troops to Somalia to battle Al-Shabab following attacks and tourists
kidnappings in their soil
