The South Korean government provided Somalia’s foreign ministry with luxurious bullet-proof VIP vehicles, one of the latest donation by the East Asian nation which has restored diplomatic relations with Somalia after more than decades of war.

According to Somalia’s foreign ministry, the deliveries come of the heels that many countries continue to donate technical and military equipment to Somalia which faces a deadly stubborn insurgency by the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabab group which is fighting Somali government and African Union forces supporting.

The donation follows similar donations by Iraq, UAE, Italy, Japan, and the US helping the weak UN-backed government to extend its rule across the country.

However, Turkey remains a major ally for Somalia as it became the first foreign administrations to resume formal diplomatic relations with Somalia with the intention of more effectively assisting in the post-conflict development process after the civil war in the horn of Africa nation.
