Somali Minister of Interior and National
Security Abdikarim Hussein Guled began security talks with Yemen's
Minister of Interior Abdul Qader Qahtan in Sana'a Tuesday (September
17th), the Yemen News Agency reported.
Guled and Qahtan discussed the two countries' relations, as well as
co-operation in refugee issues, training the Somali police, and fighting
organised crime, terrorism, piracy and smuggling.
Qahtan said Yemen wants to strengthen security co-operation with Somalia to improve security and stability in the region.
Guled said his trip to Yemen was a follow-up to Prime Minister Abdi
Farah Shirdon's visit with Yemeni President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi
earlier this month, Somalia's RBC Radio reported.
