Mogadishu (HOL) — Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Thursday met with the newly elected members of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) at the Presidential Palace in Mogadishu.

The meeting followed Wednesday’s election by the Federal Parliament, which selected nine lawmakers to represent Somalia in the regional assembly — a key milestone in the country’s deeper integration into the East African Community (EAC), less than a year after joining the bloc.
