Mogadishu (HOL) – Somalia’s newly appointed nonresident ambassador to Tajikistan, Fathudin Ali Mohamed, presented his diplomatic credentials to President Emomali Rahmon during a formal ceremony in Dushanbe on Friday to enhance bilateral relations between the two nations.

During their meeting, Ambassador Fathudin and President Rahmon discussed opportunities for strengthening ties and expanding cooperation in key sectors, including trade, development, and security. Both leaders emphasized their commitment to advancing partnerships that promote mutual benefits and address issues of shared interest.

The ambassador, who is based in Ankara, Turkey, conveyed greetings from Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and underscored his dedication to advancing closer diplomatic and economic ties between the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Republic of Tajikistan.

The presentation of credentials coincided with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud’s recent reception of eight newly appointed ambassadors to Somalia, highlighting Somalia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its global partnerships and diplomatic footprint.

During the same ceremony, President Emomali Rahmon also received the credentials of newly appointed ambassadors from several countries, including the United Kingdom, Japan, South Korea, Austria, Italy, Canada, Australia, Algeria, and Venezuela.

In his remarks, President Rahmon reiterated Tajikistan’s long-standing commitment to enhancing friendly international relations since its independence, emphasizing that its foreign policy aims to strengthen cooperation through bilateral and multilateral frameworks.

“Since the first years of independence, the foreign policy of our state has been aimed at strengthening and expanding friendly relations and beneficial cooperation with international partners,” said Rahmon.

Tajikistan has established active and constructive relations with a wide range of nations across different sectors, reflecting its efforts to play a significant role on the global stage through mutually beneficial partnerships, according to the President.
