Antalya (HOL) – Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Antalya on Thursday night to attend the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF), which officially opened Friday and will run through April 13 under the theme “Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World.”
Presidential Spokesperson Abdirahman Adam Ali confirmed that President Mohamud will deliver a keynote address during the conference and hold bilateral meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the event.
“The President will highlight Somalia’s diplomatic progress, economic priorities, and its expanding engagement with the international community, especially Turkey,” the spokesperson said.
The ADF, hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, brings together heads of state, diplomats, scholars, and policy-makers to explore global and regional challenges, focusing on diplomacy and conflict resolution.
President Mohamud is expected to discuss Somalia’s ongoing stabilization and state-building efforts, the Federal Government’s foreign policy agenda, strengthening bilateral ties between Somalia and Turkey, especially in security, trade, and infrastructure, and regional dynamics in the Horn of Africa.
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum, first held in 2021, has become a key venue for global dialogue. This year’s notable attendees include Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and others.
