Jubbaland leader Madobe meets U.S. Special Ops Commander to discuss al-Shabaab offensive

    Kismayo (HOL) - Jubbaland regional state leader Ahmed Mohamed Madobe met with the Commander of U.S. Special Operations, Colonel David Haskell, in Kismayo on Tuesday to discuss military operations against al-Shabaab.

    The meeting focused on the current operations and the security support the United States is providing in the war against al-Shabaab.

    "We discussed the recent renewed and successful efforts to liberate new areas by the armed forces in Jubbaland, and we urged the United States government to continue helping the Somali people eliminate the Khawarij," President Madobe stated in a post on his X (formerly Twitter).

    The Jubbaland presidency reported that Colonel David Haskell praised the operations that liberated the Bulohaji area and its surroundings. He noted that the successes in these recent operations demonstrate Jubbaland's commitment to liberating areas still under Khawarij control.

    The Commander of the Jubbaland Intelligence Agency, Mohamed Ahmed Sabriye, and the Commander of the Dervish Forces, General Ismail Sahardid, also attended the meeting.
