Khadija Hussein Farah was killed during a robbery in Garissa.

Nairobi (HOL) - Kenya's Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has announced the arrest of a suspect in the murder of Khadija Hussein Farah, a 37-year-old businesswoman who was stabbed to death during a robbery in Garissa town in late December. The suspect, Michael Barasa Wanyama, 20, is believed to be the motorcycle (boda boda) driver who was part of a group of three men that carried out the attack.

Khadija was accosted by the three men travelling on a motorbike and fatally stabbed with a Somali sword during a robbery attempt. She was rushed to the Medina Diagnostic Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The DCI has reported that Wanyama will appear before the Garissa Chief Magistrate's Court on April 10, 2023, to face charges for his involvement in the crime. However, one suspect, Abdullahi Shithe Weheliye (alias Jiji), is still at large, while the other suspect, Mohamed Abdikadir Hussein, remains in custody.

Wanyama will appear before the Garissa Chief Magistrate on April 10, 2023.
