The state ministries accused the Federal Ministry of Posts of mismanaging the World Bank's Digital Integration project, which will begin in the coming weeks and cost $80 million for rebuilding and developing the Ministries of Communication of the State Governments.
They added that the ministry had enlisted its employees to work on the project, but their requests were rebuffed.
They also accused Minister Jama Hassan Khalif of severing ties between the two levels and taking actions they were unaware of, such as cancelling several meetings, suspending workshops for regional governments, and transferring them to the federal ministry.
The regional Ministries of Posts and Communications urged federal leaders to intervene in the project to obtain their rights.
In August 2020, the Ministries of Finance of the states suspended cooperation with the central government in Mogadishu after they accused the federal government ministry of finance of violating the previous sharing agreements.
However, the issue was later resolved, according to the Federal Ministry of Finance.
