Somali President arrives in Nairobi, Kenya

    Nairobi (HOL) - Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived on Friday in Nairobi for a two-day State Visit.

    Mohamud was received at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Hon. Peter Munya and other high-ranking Kenyan officials.

    During his visit, the President will have bilateral talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta, which are aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Kenya and Somalia.

    According to the Kenyan Ministry of Agriculture, the visit will also seek collaboration in Agriculture, Trade and Investment, among other areas.

    A statement from the Somali presidency said that President Mohamud's visit to Kenya on Friday is part of his plan of "Somalia at Peace with itself and the world."

    "President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud attaches great importance to pursuing the interests of the Somali people through collaboration, which will lead to the development of cooperation between the two governments and the mutual interests of the two neighbouring peoples. While it is also strengthening stability and development," said a statement from the Somali presidency.

    During his stay in Nairobi, Kenya, the President will meet with members of the Somali community in the country to brief them on the circumstances of Somalia and to listen to them.
