Turkish foreign minister greets new Somali counterpart on assuming charge

    Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Friday congratulated his new Somali counterpart Abshir Omar Huruse on his assumption of the position.

    According to a statement by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Cavusoglu and Huruse had a phone conversation in which they also discussed bilateral relations.

    Huruse assumed office as the new foreign minister of Somalia on Aug. 13.
