Gunfire continues as gunmen fighting inside hotel in Mogadishu

    Mogadishu (HOL) - Somalia’s Al Shabaab militants launched a car bomb followed by a gunfight attack on Hayat hotel in Mogadishu on Friday evening.

    The popular Hayat hotel, located at KM4 junction, is frequented by lawmakers and other government authorities.

    Gunfire continues inside the hotel building as the security forces battle with the fighters.

    The group has claimed responsibility for the attack and said its fighters had captured the hotel.
