Don’t undermine probe into my daughter’s death, father of slain spy agent tells Farmaajo

Sunday September 12, 2021

LONDON (HOL) - The father of slain intelligence agent Ikran Farah has told President Mohamed Farmaajo not to stand in the way of investigations into his daughter's death.

In an interview with a Kenyan-based TV station, Dr. Tahlil Farah said his family's attempts to get justice for her daughter had not yielded any response, especially from the government.

In the interview, Farah said his family had spoken to the immediate former NISA boss Fahad Yasin, CID officers and First Lady Zahra Hassan.

Dr. Farah said Fahad had requested for two days to gather information about the disappearance of Ikran, but 'we were shocked when Somali media announced on TV that Al-Shabaab had killed her.'

Farah, who has largely remained out of the picture in the ongoing furor over his daughter's disappearance, said the family was not ready to compromise on the investigation. He told Farmaajo' not to undermine efforts for justice for my daughter'.

He spoke from London, where he currently lives.

Farmaajo is reportedly opposed to the case heading to the military tribunal as Prime Minister Mohamed Roble, who has been vocal on the matter, directed the investigating agencies and the military prosecutor to expedite the process.

Dr. Farah further said he was not satisfied with NISA's explanation on the fate of his daughter, adding, 'you either produce my daughter alive or bring the body.'

The militant group Al-Shabaab which NISA accused of killing Ikran, has since distanced itself from the accusations.
