BAIDOA (HOL) - The chairperson of persons with disabilities in Baidoa has been shot dead.
The handicapped man identified as Shariff Jiis was gunned down Tuesday night, according his relative who spoke to the media..
The militant group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the killing, accusing Jiis of spying for Somali police.
Al-Shabaab has in the past conducted such several killings targeting what it terms as collaborators for Somali Government and foreign intelligence agencies.
There was no immediate response from the South West administration regarding the murder.
