The devastated family of murdered Khalid Abdi Farah have paid tribute to their "kind and lovable soul" nearly a week after he was gunned down in Southall.
They implored anyone with information to come forward, saying the 26-year-old will only rest once “this killer is brought to justice”. It comes as police renewed their appeal for information, revealing the vehicle that the gunman travelled in was stolen from Uxbridge nearly a month earlier and found burnt out on the evening of the shooting in Knowles Close, West Drayton.
Mr Farah, a 26-year-old from Greenford, was fatally wounded as he sat in a car in Lady Margaret Road at 1.23am on Saturday (November 11) morning and died two hours later in St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington.
One week on from the shooting police will be at Lady Margaret Road late on Friday (November 17) night and into the early hours of Saturday morning, as they seek further information. Earlier, the Crimestoppers charity announced a £10,000 reward for information which leads to the conviction of the person or people responsible for the murder.
In their statement released through Scotland Yard, Mr Farah’s family said: “Khalid was such an amazing son, brother and nephew.
“We can’t stress enough how distraught we are that our beautiful boy was taken away from us.
“He was a kind and lovable soul that made an impression on everyone he would meet. We as a family will never come to terms with this.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Partridge said: "The route taken away from the scene has been identified as along Lady Margaret Road towards the Ruislip Road and then along the Parkway heading towards the M4.
"This route is always busy and it is possible that the manner and speed in which this vehicle was being driven shortly after 01.23 hours attracted the attention of other motorists.
"It may even be that this car has been captured by motorists with 'dash cameras' fitted. If anyone can assist with sightings or footage of this vehicle, I urge them to contact my team."
