Mogadishu (HOL) - A Consultation session on the upcoming London Conference on Somalia has been held in Mogadishu with Federal Government of Somalia officials and international partners on Monday.
The meeting discussed a diverse range of topics including constitutional review, the federalism structure, the New Partnership Agreementand what needs to be done between now and 2020 to ensure universal suffrage for all Somalis.
It was attended by Sagal Bihi, Member of Somali Federal Parliament and Chair of the Human Rights, Gender and Humanitarian Committee; Abdirahman Hosh Jibril, Minister of Constitutional Affair; David Concar, the UK ambassador to Somalia, the UN Deputy Special Representative, Peter de Clercq and members of civil society.
The U.K. Government will be hosting a conference on Somalia in London on May 11th to discuss key development and security issues.
