Every year South Africa receives thousands of Somali asylum seekers and 2012 was no different.
Nearly 3,000 Somali nationals applied for asylum across the country.
Mohamed Ali survived a bomb blast in the capital of Mogadishu and
after receiving death threats from a terrorist group fled to South
Africa.
However, as the situation in the notoriously dangerous country on the
Horn of Africa improves, more and more Somalis are considering
returning home.
