The Wanowrie police have arrested three foreign nationals for allegedly assaulting a private security guard of a housing complex in Wanowrie.
The suspects have been identified as Mohammed Salha Mukhtar (23), Salha Mukhtar (48) and Mahad Salha Mukhtar (24), all currently residing at Radiant Paradise. They hail from Somalia. A complaint in this regard has been lodged by Amit Vidya Singh (25) of Hadapsar with the Wanowrie police station.
The security guard identified as Pintu Yadav sustained severe injuries in the incident. The suspects also thrashed three more persons of a private security company.
Assistant inspector of police S N Hulwan said that Yadav is working as security guard at Clover Village housing complex in Wanowrie. The security guard did not allow the suspect Mohammed Mukhtar to enter the premises of the complex as the suspect's motorcycle was not having the identity mark given by the society. "The suspect had entered into a brawl with Yadav and had thrashed him severely," Hulwan said.
Hulwan said that following the incident, the complainant, who is working as an area manager of the security company and other officials Aakash Shilamkar (22) of Maharshinagar and Balbhim Sagat (30) of Kondhwa rushed to the spot. They also informed the police about the incident. "Furious by this, the suspect and his two more accomplices attacked them with iron rod and severely thrashed them," Hulwan said.
The suspects have been charged under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
