The Somali parliament has summoned Prime
Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon and Interior and National Security Minister
Abdikarim Hussein Guled for questioning on security and human rights
issues, UN-funded Radio Bar-Kulan reported on Saturday (April 6th).
Shirdon will face questions on government activities, including the
formation of regional administrations in areas of the country recently
liberated from al-Shabaab, said Deputy Speaker Mahad Abdalla Awad.
Guled will testify on the Somali security situation and the deaths of
several prisoners who were allegedly taken from their cells in
Mogadishu and killed, he said. Guled is expected to appear before the
legislature on April 14th.
