Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has condemned the horrific grenade attack on a public service bus in Nairobi's Eastleigh estate.

In a press statement, the President sent his condolences to the victims and families of the attack that resulted in the death of at least 10 and wounded more than 30.

President Mohamud stated: “Terrorism, is the most timid, and inhumane activity against innocent civilian.”

He highlighted the sacrifices that Kenyan forces made and continued to make to restore peace and stability inside Somalia and noted such terrorist attacks would not weaken the spirit of the Kenyan people and the relations between the two neighbouring states.

President Mohamud also underlined that the people and the Government of Somalia were in solidarity with their Kenyan neighbours at this moment of national grief.

“Certainly,'' he said, ''resorting to such brutal terrorist action will in no way hold back the people of Kenya.”
