A Jamestown man convicted of killing a Somali immigrant has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
KOVC radio reports that Judge Thomas Merrick sentenced 35-year-old Leron Howard on Wednesday. A jury in August found Howard guilty of murder and criminal conspiracy in the April 2011 death of 18-year-old Abdi Ali Ahmed.
Ahmed was found dead in a road ditch near Spiritwood. Authorities say he had a head wound and stab wounds to his abdomen.
Twenty-two-year-old Janelle Cave was sentenced earlier to 11 years in prison in the killing. She was convicted in February on manslaughter and criminal conspiracy charges.
