MOGADISHU (HOL) ---At least nine people died and ten others were wounded after a commuter bus collided with a truck carrying animals outside Somali capital, the latest road accident in the impoverished horn of Africa nation, officials told HOL on Tuesday.
The bus which was heading to the agricultural town of Afgoi hit a truck carrying goats on a rough road near Hawa Abdi area, as the truck fell over the mini-bus, killing nine and gravely wounding ten others.
Witnesses described the scene terrible as there were no emergency crews that arrived on time to help the victims of the crush.
Somalia which has not had a functioning government since 1991 doesn't have emergency crews to help the victims of such tragedies, forcing civilians to take matters into their hands to rush the victims to hospitals.
The country also lacks motoring regulations, with drivers overspeeding and breaking the traffic rules according to their wish, increasing risks of constant accidents.
